High School Trailer Remake

17 Again Remake

Scope of the Project

The scope of the project was to recreate a high school movie trailer frame for frame. For the project my group chose the movie trailer 17 Again. The actual assignment as I previously stated was to recreate a high school movie trailer frame for frame.

The Process

For pre-production process the class was told to create a storyboard of screenshots for every frame and then mark up the paper with arrows to show which way the camera pans out. Another part of preproduction was writing a script. For the script we used Celtix.com which is a website that lets you digitally type a script and have a template to follow which made the process a lot easier. The last few parts of the pre production process was creating a schedule for recording and lastly creating a role list and cast list. During production we had a rough time. My group and I struggled in terms of getting our cast together, stoking to recording schedule and were limited on resources needed. In terms of actual filming we filmed our shots well they were clear. In post production my group used Adobe Premiere. The only thing new that I did in premiere that I did differently and that was new to me was adding animation. Other than that the editing was nothing special it was pretty standard and similar to my other videos.

What I Learned Along the Way

In terms of technical use I only learned one thing new. The new thing I learned was how to add animation and gaps to a video and how to overlay it onto a clip. Professionally I learned a ton of things that I need to learn from. One important lesson i learned from this video and will defiantly be changing in future projects is priorities. The reason this idea is bad was because I did not have my priorities straight. I know that there is no excuses and I stand by that quote 100% but the week the video was due and was supposed to be filmed I had other activities that meant more to me at the time and still do which caused me not to take this video project as serious. I know school comes first and this week I messed up nothing more to it as too why the video was terrible. The last lesson I will be writing about even though there are plenty more is communication with our cast better. The director filter and moral support all communicated well but we did not talk to our cast members at all which was a huge mistake.

What I would do Differently

I would do everything differently. I can't even say I did one thing correct other than the audio and video was not messed up. What I would do differently is re shoot the entire video all over again.

What I Would do the Same

nothing. I would do nothing the same because the video was terrible words can't even describe how disappointed I am in this video.

General Thoughts and Conclusion

Overall I would change everything. This video is terrible and I am honestly embarrassed by the video. As long as I am in eComm I will never produce a video as ba or even as close to how bad this is.

5x5 Quotes

 5x5 Quotes

Why I Chose Each Quote

I chose the quote "Don't cry to quit, cry to keep going. You're already in pain. You're already hurt. Get a reward from it" because a motivational speaker knows as Eric Thomas says this in his most famous speech. This speech got me through my life from the months of November - February 27 as I was up every day till 2am grinding out on baseball to make the team and going to the gym every day to get stronger. I could have given up and went to sleep and quit because I was in pain but instead I powered through and got a reward of making the baseball team for the second year in a row.
I chose the quote "When you want to succeed as bad as you want to breathe then you will be successful". Again this quote was said by my favorite motivational speaker Eric Thomas and this quote provided me with the encouragement    through the months of November - February 27. I wanted to make the baseball team so bad that it was all I wanted in life I put all my effort into making the team. Like the quote says when you want to succeed as bad as you want to breathe then you will be successful. This is exactly what I felt like all I wanted was to be good at baseball and all the handwork paid off. Now I considered myself one of the best in the 2019 ONW baseball class because of this quote and how it kept me going.

I Chose the quote "Ive got a dream that is worth more than my sleep" because once again Eric Thomas says this in one of his most famous motivational speeches about success. This quote especially relates to me as stated before I stayed up till 2 am every day gaining for baseball rather I was at the gym getting stronger, hitting, fielding, or speed drills I was doing something to better myself. As I had a dream of making the high school baseball team for the second year in a row and all the hard work paid off as I did make the team. I felt as if and still do now that sleep is not important what is more important is success as their is nothing funny about someone who is more successful than you. Like I also mentioned before listening to this quote in my head motivated to work harder than everyone else.
My last quote is "Today I will do what others won't... So tomorrow I can do what others can't". I chose this quote because When I was spending 6 hours a day practicing baseball not caring about anything else in life besides God and my family I was doing what no one else was. I was putting in hard work while everyone else was out hanging out with friends, partying, or even sleeping I did what they wouldn't do that day. And like the quote says "So tomorrow I can do what others can't" and this remains true top real life as I became such a better ball player and now that tomorrow has became today I am doing what most kids art able to. This is why I chose this quote because it gave me the will power to work harder than my competition which gave me the edge when it came down to being clutch.

Symbol vs. Marks

Symbol vs. Marks

Summary of what I learned

After reading a few passages I learned what a mark was. To begin a mark can be one of six topics it could either be a symbol, pictograph, letter mark, logo, combination mark, or a trademark. All marks are considered trademarks. While reading I also learned how a symbol can be very crucial to a company. A symbol should have 11 traits for good use, analysis, and development. The 11 traits a
symbol should have would be positive association, easy identification, close gestalt, abstraction level, reduction, one color rule, negative spaces, symbol weight, flow, direction, and lastly metering. If a symbol contains all of these listed traits/factors the symbol will have a long lifetime.

Difference Between Symbol and Logo

The difference between a symbol and a logo is a symbol is "Marks without type used to identify a cooperation, agency or institution. Symbols can also be legally protected. A logo differs from a symbol as a logo is "word or words in type. Identify company, brand, project, group. Pronounceable. Can be legally protected." Some advantages to having a symbol is it can be unique, simple gestalt. Quick impact. Some disadvantages to having a symbol costly to promote, explain. Confusing with other symbols. Some advantages to logos would be easy to promote. Some disadvantages would be complex gestalt. When a symbol and a logo are used together it is called a combination mark.

Favorite Thing I Learned and How it will be Used in the Future

The favorite thing I used was what a combination mark was. This is my favorite thing because in the future when I am creating my own logos I will defiantly be using a combination mark.
